Syllabus

This is an introductory course in the ITU-T H.323 standard. The topics covered by this course are the following:

  • The funcional elements defined by the H.323 standard, including: terminal, gateway, gatekeeper, border element, multipoint controller, multipoint processor, multipoint control unit.
  • The H.323 protocol suite: the registration, admission and status (RAS) signaling, call control signaling, and media control and transport.
  • A brief overview into call flows, and how to setup a multimedia call with H.323.
